Hello Money Explorers!
I am so excited that Fall has arrived! I adore the nip in the air in the morning and sleeping with my windows wide open under heavy blankets.
I want to check in with you to see how you are faring. There have been so many new developments in our world that may be unsettling for you. Our current economic health seems to be a daunting conversation for many. The word recession is being bandied about daily. And according to the many economic forecasters sharing their opinions, the timeline for our economy’s entry into a recession appears to be imminent. Some say that we have already entered into a recession. How does it feel for you to hear that?
Please know that I am here if you have concerns about the economy and/or your financial well-being. As you know, I am not an economist, nor am I a financial advisor/planner. I am a financial therapist and I know that the recent volatility of the stock market is increasing anxiety for everyone. You are not alone if you have experienced anxiety, fear, and/or uncertainty. I am helping clients reassess their thoughts and behaviors about their money matters with the intention of enhancing their feelings of financial security and money confidence during a trying economic period.
What is the Status of your Financial Team?
One point that I often discuss with my clients is the benefit of surrounding ourselves with financial team members that ensure that our money is being protected, that there is enough, and that there will continue to be enough, to take care of our needs. I am consistently growing my database of financial providers to include accountants, bookkeepers, financial planners and advisors, as well as lawyers to be readily available as referrals for my clients. What a thrill it is to connect financial service providers with clients with the intention that they will have long-term positive and productive relationships. Please reach out if you have identified a need for new financial team members to support your financial well-being. Please remember, we do not have to attend to our money matters all by ourselves. Having a team is comforting in challenging times and provides skill sets that we may not own.
Relationship to Self Coaching Group
Our relationship to self is critical to our relationship with money. In the middle of October, Money Matters with SK hosted an group on the Zoom platform called Relationship to Self Coaching Group for women to explore their relationships to themselves, to money and to others. We focus on communication strategies, establishing boundaries, maintaining those boundaries and celebrating ourselves. The participants have already formed strong alignments and have requested to meet in person for the additional opportunity to connect physically.
It is said that there is more therapy in human touch than in any other modality and I see it in this group! As a result, I am working to include members by Zoom and in person. At this time, we have 3 spots available in the group if you are interested. The group meets bi-monthly on Fridays from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. The cost is $75/session or $150/month. If you are interested in participating in this group, please reach out via email to Susannah at sk@moneymatterswithsk.com.
New Group Offerings
And finally, I am excited to announce that I will be offering 2 Money Explorers Groups in the New Year! The groups will be open to 8 participants and the spots are filling quickly. The groups will explore the topics covered in greater depth from the Money Matters Core Process package including:
